Jenny Lee, designer, founder and creative director of Jenny Lee Inc., is inspired by femininity in its truest form. Always at the forefront of her personal design ethos, developing a sublime bridal gown collection is what appeals to her most.
Jenny Lee would be considered by many as having had an enviable childhood. The daughter of a style conscious mother, Jenny vividly remembers trips to local custom tailors for weekly fittings of outfits being made for her. At the early age of six, she started designing her own clothes, choosing the fabrics herself and had a keen eye for color and textiles.
This creative experimentation and influencing by her mother had a huge impact on her career path and as a young woman in America saw her take up a career in fashion design. After graduating from the prestigious Parsons School of Design, Jenny relocated to California and subsequently opened her first boutique in Beverly Hills in 1995.
She established a celebrity following including Hollywood star Whoopi Goldberg's daughter Alex Martin, supermodel Kelly Emburg (of Rod Stewart fame), and the wedding gown for the fiancee of football hero, Jim Brown's. She also created his tuxedo for the ceremony. Jenny has also created couture wedding gowns for stars in Japan, such as singer and actress Iijima Naoko and actor Eisaku Yoshida. The magazine "Domani" in Japan has also featured her collections.
With the success of her boutique she decided to show her collection nationally. In 2003 she had her first show in New York City at Bridal Couture Week, with resounding success. The response was truly overwhelming and the word of mouth spread about the amazing fit and quality craftsmanship. The construction and fit of Jenny’s gowns are what allow brides to wear the dresses, and not the other way around. This collection of finely made pieces appeals to a modern and fashion forward bride.
