Sketch to Runway: Dress 1514

Jenny Lee’s final dress from her Spring 2015 was a head-turning show stopper.  Inspiration for the dress came after purchasing a book, La Giarretiera (“The Garter”), during her trip to Italy.  “The intricate sample of lace patterns, and the shape that lingerie gives to the body were the main points in designing this dress.” The bodice has an inseam corset similar to lingerie, hugging the waist-line effortlessly to give the beautiful hourglass shape. Composing two different laces, chantilly and alecon, gave the dress texture to make both laces stand out.  Sheer lace was used about the neckline to create both a sexy and feminine detail.  The trumpet skirt was tiered with tulle, silk organza, and lace to create a beautiful and ethereal flow as the bride walks around.0607201406072014_2
